Utah – Brian Tarbet, Major General (Ret.), announced today he was throwing his support behind Celeste Maloy’s campaign for Congress.

“After nearly forty years in the military, I have a good eye for spotting those who say they want to serve versus those who actually mean it,” said Tarbet. “I am endorsing Celeste Maloy because I know she means it when she says she is ready to get to work serving the people of Utah. She knows the district, she knows the issues, and she is exactly the kind of bold conservative leader Utah needs.”

Republican delegates will vote this Saturday in Delta to select a Republican nominee who will automatically advance to the special primary on September 5th to fill the seat of retiring Congressman Chris Stewart.

“Brian Tarbet epitomizes the kind of service I want to bring to the people of Utah’s 2nd Congressional District,” said Maloy. “This district is home. The families that live here are my friends and neighbors, and they deserve nothing less. I don’t want to be a politician, but I do want to fight for you and your family in Congress. That’s why I am humbly asking for the votes of delegates across our district at tomorrow’s Republican convention.”

Celeste Maloy is a graduate of Southern Utah University’s School of Agriculture and received her law degree from Brigham Young University. She began her career in public service as a Soil Conservationist at the United States Department of Agriculture in Beaver, Utah.

After finishing her law degree, Celeste went on to serve as a Deputy County Attorney in Washington County, a Public Lands Attorney for the Utah Association of Counties, and a Staff Attorney for the Washington County Water Conservancy District. Most recently, she has been serving the people of Utah’s Second Congressional District in her role as Chief Legal Counsel.
